F.A.Q.

Q. What is cloud based computing?

A. Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices on demand, like the electricity grid.  Cloud computing is a paradigm shift following the shift from mainframe to client–server in the early 1980s. Details are abstracted from the users, who no longer have need for expertise in, or control over, the technology infrastructure "in the cloud" that supports them.  Cloud computing describes a new supplement, consumption, and delivery model for IT services based on the Internet, and it typically involves over-the-Internet provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources.

Q. What does that mean in English?

A. You need to store something and use an application, we have the resources and the application to use.  Send us your data, we provide access to the images.  End of Story, no server to maintain, no Database to backup, no worries about virus’ or user rights.  We are your IT staff, you are the imaging source.

Q. Is my information secure?

A. We use SSL 128 bit encryption to secure your data both coming and going.

Q. English please…

A. Do you bank online or buy anything online?  We use the same protection they do.

Q. How does it all work?

A. Watch the video! (The video is coming soon...  Go ahead and signup so we can hire a big actor)

In the interim below is a very detailed description...

  • First you signup for the service - Cha Ching!

  • We then send you a pre-configured Cloud Jumper (That is a neato marketing name for an All In One PC with our custom written software)

  • You put it on the internet (behind your firewall) and we then login to do the rest

  • Your modality (we do not care which one or how many) acquires image(s)

  • Your modality sends them locally to the Cloud Jumper

  • The Cloud Jumper compresses the Data (think of a piece of paper being folded in half and half again and again and again (get it yet?))

  • The Cloud Jumper sends the compressed data via secure FTP to our central server

  • Our FTP server re compiles the data (unfolds the paper) and sends it via DICOM to our archive servers in the cloud

  • Our data center validates image and puts in its own separate container

  • End user logs in and pulls the images from the cloud using our 50 MB Internet pipe

  • The physician AND the patient walk away whistling while they work...  (O.K. that was a stretch, but look it is WAAAAAY better than your old PACS)

Q. What about support?

A. We offer support on all days ending in Y, 24 hours a day!

Q. What about redundancy?

A. Our systems are redundant and mirrored a minimum of 3 times, so your data is in at least 6 locations on state of the art drives.  Plus you have the data still on your Cloud Jumper and modality for at least a few days!

Q. Access controls?

A. We have several large men at the door at all times!  Oh yeah, we have state of the art electronic intrusion prevention too!

Q. What happens if the internet goes down at my site?

A. The Cloud Jumper has a built in viewer and it picks up where it left off when the internet comes back online.
